ARRIVING INTO TANZANIA
For the more ‘adventurous’ with less time constraints, it could be possible to fly into Tanzania (Julius Nyerere International Airport in Dar es Salaam or Kilimanjaro International Airport) although these are not as well serviced internationally as Nairobi and Johannesburg. You could then take an internal flight to Entebbe. Alternatively, the Akamba/ Scandanavian Express bus journeys take around 24 hours (see ‘Travelling via bus’ (below).

Travelling via Bus from Nairobi or Tanzania
Several bus companies offer direct routes from Nairobi, Kigali, Bujumbura, Goma, Juma and Dar es Salaam to Kampala. All of these buses will, in theory, allow travellers to alight at main towns along the route, e.g. it is possible to stop in Jinja for white-

Queens Coach: Service Uganda and Kenya
This is the only fully air conditioned coach service from Kenya to Uganda. In addition, they provide you with a can of fizzy drink, a bottle of water, and two cakes! ;)
From our own experience, we recommend both of the above bus companies. Queens is slightly more expensive but the A.C. and cakes more than make up for it!

A fairly new coach company, which started operating in 2007. It has one of the newest fleet of coaches amongst the competition. Some of the Kenyan coaches have A.C., unfortunately the coach from Nairobi to Kampala does not.
